As I’ve been working on this “project” I’ve needed to ask people for help. Each time I tell someone what I’m doing they get excited and ask me to document my progress and to keep them updated; so, by popular demand, I’m going to write about it.
The Red Piano Project
Objective: To find a run down baby grand piano and rip the insides out to so i can utilize the remaining shell.
Goal: Paint the piano red to match the keyboard that I’m going to insert where the keys use to be. i want to have a light-weight piano shell that will hold my keyboard so I can travel with it. i want to give the appearance of traveling with a real piano.
Craigslist is a great place to find free stuff, there really is no limit to what you can find if you just keep your eyes open. God bless Craig and his list.

If you choose to move a piano yourself with your own team I recommend not caring to much about it. By that I mean if you want to move something worth over $3000 it’s best to invest in professional movers, these guy’s also have insurance if they break your instrument…thankfully, damaging my newly acquired piano wasn’t really an issue for me.
Our crew dwindled along the journey to my house, and there were only two of us left to remove the piano from the bed of the trailer which was an impossible task. This meant the demolition needed to start while the piano was still in the trailer so we could lift it out piece by piece, this was the fun part
